Legal Laboratory DNA Testing Protocols
- The clients will be set up at a laboratory closest to their location/or a Certified Mobile Collector will come to them on same day or within 24 hours.
- Each person tested will provide informed consent before sample collection. In the case of minors, the individual with legal authority will provide informed consent.
- The sample collection professional must confirm:
*The person being tested has provided ID and the relationship of individuals are accurately recorded.
*Informed consent has been obtained.
*The sample was collected from proper individual.
*All sample labeling is accurate and properly packaged in a tamper-evident manner.
*A legible photo will be taken, properly labeled and signed.
*The shipment of the specimens to the DNA laboratory as well as the storage of the specimens.
*Soft Copy of results will be emailed to the Attorney &/or client. Legal documentation will be mailed to Attorney.
